Air Power Over Hampton Roads 2009

Langley AFB, VA

After being told about this show for years now, I decided to add this gem to the list. I'm still trying to find words one week later for this show. It was flawless and put together so well. The weather was nothing short of amazing (a little less heat would be nice, but who cares!), and the demos all went down with no mishaps.  It was a bittersweet moment to see the last F-15c Eagle demo (public). "Nuke" put on four killer demos throughout the three day air show. Happy Trails to the whole team.  VFA-106 brought their gorgeous 30th anniversary Hornet, painted up in the prototype colors.  It was also a nice treat to have Langley's own Eagles take to the sky and do some pattern work after their four ship flyby, showering the crowd with burners and lots of noise. Herb & Ditto and John Mohr once again put aviation enthusiasts in awe with their acts.  The Thunderbirds added new hardware to their whole fleet this year. By upgrading to the Block 52 F-16, they were able to add extra  maneuvers.  All made possible by the Pratt & and Whitney F100-PW-229 engine.

All the pictures were taken throughout 4 shows (Including Friday's night show)
